Kiefer Sutherland Web Series THE CONFESSION Goes to Canada
By Jonathan Dekel
Kiefer Sutherland is jumping from the small screen to an even smaller screen with the web-based series The Confession.
The Canadian actor created and stars in the 10-part digital series, which will be available exclusively through digital mediums: online, tablets and mobile. Sutherland plays a hitman who goes to church on Christmas Eve to confess his sins to a priest, played by two-time Academy Award nominee John Hurt. As he confesses his past deadly deeds, shown through a series of flashbacks, the two men discover they are much more complex than either one could have expected.
The Confession debuted in March on the American website Hulu.com, where it was one of the Top 5 most-subscribed-to-series for nearly three months, according to Bell Media in a statement released Wednesday.
The digital-action series begins Monday, Dec. 5 at theconfession.ctv.ca with three back-to-back episodes, followed by two new episodes on subsequent Mondays. The full series will be available on CTV Mobile on Bell Mobile TV for smartphones and superphones beginning Dec. 12, and can be seen through The CTV iPad App starting Dec. 19.
