Kiefer Sutherland Mentioned in Lou Diamond Phillips Interview

Kiefer Sutherland Mentioned in Lou Diamond Phillips Interview

Q: You’ve worked with Kiefer Sutherland, you guys still buds? Keep in touch etc?”

LDP: I absolutely adore Kiefer. Not only a great actor but one of the coolest people you’ll ever meet with an absolute heart of gold. Having said that, I saw him two months ago and he mooned me through a lobby window at the Chateau Marmont. Given our history together, I had no choice but to moon him back. Drinks ensued. This is the nature of our relationship. I’d crawl through broken glass to work with him again.

Rob writes: “What was it like to work with Kiefer Sutherland again on season 1 of 24 after doing the Young Guns movies? Would you like the opportunity to work with him again?”

LDP: Little bit of an overlap from the last question but I’ll elaborate by pointing out that Kiefer and I have worked on five projects together – Young Guns 1 & 2, Renegades, Picking Up the Pieces (With Woody Allen & Sharon Stone. I hear it’s terrible. I’ve never seen it.) and of course those two eps of 24 in Season 1. I got a call from my agent who informed me they were offering me the role but the script wasn’t written yet. I was told it would be me, Kiefer and Dennis Hopper in a bunker. Sounded like a party to me so I told them I needed to make one call. I called Kiefer on set (he was unaware of the offer) and he told me to say yes immediately. Obviously, I did. He mentioned a project to me in passing the last time I saw him so I have hopes that we’ll be back in the saddle again. He is still one of my favorite people in the biz. Also, just as an added note, don’t remember the season or the ep but Kiefer/Jack Bauer saved my daughter Grace from nerve gas in a mall not too long ago. It was her first professional gig.

Kiefer Sutherland in Talks for The Thing in The Fantastic Four

Twentieth Century Fox is pursuing the big voices of Bruce Willis and Kiefer Sutherland to play The Thing in the next Fantastic Four.

During Comic-Con back in July we found out that one member of the next Fantastic Fourmovie would be created on screen completely in CGI. I am of course referring to TheThing, or Ben Grimm as he used to be called before cosmic rays turned him into the lovable orange rock monster we now know him as.

While Twentieth Century Fox seeks out replacement actors to fill out the cast of the nextFantastic Four franchise installment, they’re looking for a different set of acting qualities in an actor who will play The Thing. Specifically, they need someone with star quality who has a commanding voice. If Fox has their wish, it could be either Bruce Willis or Kiefer Sutherland who brings the voice of Ben Grimm to life.

Comic Book Movie reported earlier today that Fox is pursuing Bruce Willis to play Ben Grimm and the voice of CGI version of The Thing in the Fantastic Four quasi-reboot. I had heard the same throughout this last week without confirmation but I’m also hearing now that Kiefer Sutherland is the other choice of interest for the studio at the moment.

Kiefer Sutherland and Bruce Willis in talks to join Fantastic Four cast

Could Willis or Sutherland voice The Thing in the next Fantastic Four?

I’m a big fan of Kiefer but I can see Fox pushing hard for Bruce Willis’ name and starpower to help sell the movie. That being said, I’d prefer Kiefer’s voice as The Thing if I had to pick.

The tentative plan is for Fantastic Four to being production next year for a Summer 2012 release.

Sutherland up for Fantastic Four reboot?
by Clint Morris (Monday, August 30th, 2010 at 2:34 am )

.....Likely the same for Sutherland, who Screen Rant reported was also a candidate for the orange-coloured 'Grimm' this afternoon, he'd play Ben Grimm as a human then lend his lungs to his not-so-hot-looking alias.

Ace Of Base Meet Kiefer Sutherland, Name Fifth Album 'The Golden Ratio'

Any Jack Bauer fans in the house? This pic of Ulf Ekberg and the newAce Of Base broads with Kiefer Sutherland in Gothenburg, Sweden, was posted today on the band's Facebook. Why? Well—why the hell not, right?

The Base have been shooting their video for new single
"All For You" this week (maybe Kiefer will make a cameo?), and Jonas Berggren tweeted on Monday that while they've secured a Canadian deal, they're still working on getting distribution in the States:

Kiefer Sutherland in Widevox!

Kiefer Sutherland in Widevox!
Blog entry was translated from
Swedish to English using Google Translator

- Hey, we would like to reserve a few hours of your Gothenburg Studio.

- Absolutely, we have summer hours. What is the project?

- Yes, there is one actor who is in Sweden and will read a few television commercials, via the link on New York.

- Okay, we will solve it. Who is the actor?

- Kiefer Sutherland. - Kiefer Sutherland.

... Silence.

- Excuse me?!?

- Kiefer Sutherland.

- Yes, I heard but then ... Det är ju JACK BAUER! It's Jack Bauer!

- Exactly. Do you want to ...

- YES!

- Is it possible if ...

- ABSOLUTELY!

- Can we also ask you ...

- NO PROBLEM:-D

When one of the leading actor and announcer voices want to come to one's studio, we were not late to say yes. Kiefer Sutherland is not only known as CTU agent Jack Bauer (from the series "24" for those who missed the 2000s most exciting TV series), but a popular and extremely välavlönda voice in advertising. Until September, he is in Sweden to record a Lars von Trier film, which unfortunately clashed with one of his promotional duties. So on Friday evening, he came up to our studio in Gothenburg Stig Berg House, and read up a bunch of TV commercials for Bank of America.

Mr. Sutherland has been their "Spokes person" for 5 years now, a job he certainly may xx million - per year! Although I think I can promise you that this crazy high fee is a bargain for Bank of America. Imagine being in the middle of the deepest financial crisis have "Jack Bauer's voice" in all its television advertising, the man who rescued the U.S. from terrorism and other unpleasantness during the 2000s. It can feel more secure for a Yank?

Here you can see and hear some of his early television commercials for the same client.

How was he? yes, nice and professional sick. Our microphone enjoyed the whole evening to get their membranes have been saved by this divinely beautiful voice. But what struck us most was that he was only 1.76 long. Not nearly as big and beefy action hero as believed. Thinking of trying to wrestle him down on the floor, mostly for the sake of it. But on reflection, it is not related to Jack Bauer. Not after all he has done for the world :-)
