EXCLUSIVE-- Kiefer Sutherland and Kate Bosworth are heading for Gotham, boarding indie romancer "Fairytale of New York" with Lisa Katselas and Dan Reardon producing and Lee Cleary directing.
The film, currently in pre-production, will shoot in Northern Ireland and New York. The Little Film Co. is pre-selling the pic at Cannes.
Written by Jeff Murphy, "Fairytale of New York" centers on a cynical but charming Irish standup comic who, while in New York, meets an intriguing American woman and the two connect.
Sutherland ("24") is in the revival of Jason Miller's "That Championship Season," on Broadway.
He will next be seen in Lars von Trier's "Melancholia."
Bosworth most recently appeared in "Another Happy Day" and "Little Birds," which both premiered at Sundance.
She will next be seen in the remake of "Straw Dogs," and also just completed the comedy "Life Happens" with Krysten Ritter.
"'Fairytale of New York' lets us observe what most of us hope for in a relationship and then takes us further," Katselas said. "To achieve this, we needed to find actors with a magical connection -- and we have in Kiefer and Kate."
Sutherland is repped by 360 Management and CAA, and Bosworth is repped by WME and One Talent Management.
