Drama Series: "24"
Who do you have to waterboard to get a nomination around here? Sure, the final season of Fox's tight-as-a-vise terrorist drama may not have been its finest hour (or 24 hours, actually), but like "Lost," this enduring drama still deserved a nod as a tribute to its game-changing eight-season run. "24" set the bar for high-stakes TV drama this decade, even earning Emmys for Outstanding Drama Series and star Kiefer Sutherland's performance in 2006. A long-running hit like "24" would usually grab a nom as a sort of swan song now that it's off the air, but looks like ABC's "Lost," which viewers also said goodbye to this season, stole its thunder this time around. Emmy voters: Don't make us sic Jack Bauer on you. He's got plenty of time on his hands.
